MIXED Social Bowls Saturdays

On Saturday 17 July, On Saturday, with the sun just peeping through occasionally, 14 gender-free members drew John Eggleton's pop-sticks, and the outright individual winner on the day was Butch Sharpe with Kevin Cartwright and Keith Bowden tied for runners-up after two games.

Regular Playing Days/times:

Tuesday – 9 holes – 9:00am for 9:30am tee off

Thursday – 18 holes – 9:30am for 10:00am tee off

Thursday – 9 holes – 10:45am for 11:00am tee off

Unfortunately only two ladies turned up to play 18 holes so they teamed up with the 2 ladies who came to play 9.

We hope that more come next week to play a Canadian foursome.

I hope to be able to come along to help with the cards this week, so I look forward to catching up with every one. Unfortunately it looks like being another winter(ey) day.

A reminder that the Ladies Open Day is 20th August.  Please think about playing and/or what you can do to help

As anticipated, Saturday Mixed Social Tennis proceeded without a hitch.  A slight mist of moisture passed over for a short period, but not enough to deter any players. By 4.00 pm the bright sunshine was out drying out the courts completely and providing some ideal weather to continue our tennis until 5.00 pm.  Great to have so many trusting the weather and enjoying some socialising in the clubrooms.  Roll on the Saturday sunshine.

Jumpin’ July

Both the jumping and the videoing improved this week, with David Chopping, Graham Pike and Larry Hurt all making successful jump shots.

A couple of photos showing successful jump shots to score a hoop. First photo is David Chopping, in his own style, hitting the black ball to jump over the red ball to go through the hoop first. Graham Pike using the more conventional croquet style this time hitting the red ball to jump over the blue ball. The skill of the photographer should be recognised in capturing the ball in flight.
